Following culinary school I worked in restaurants and was shocked to see how much food got wasted.  An internet search for solutions to this led me to Winnow. It’s great working alongside people who are passionate about making the world a better place. The team spirit is fantastic and I can always count on my global colleagues for help. 

Value: Bravely honest - we put all our focus on solving our customers problems, rather than trying to close the biggest deal.

Favourite food: Sri Lankan crab curry - we eat this on Christmas day so it reminds me of happy family times.

I love working with our customers and helping them achieve their food waste goals.  Our partners at IKEA came and gave a talk sharing that since working with us, they had saved 10 million meals. Hearing this was pretty inspiring.

Outside of work, I love writing about food and in 2018 wrote a book called ‘Bread & Butter’. As the deadline approached I benefited from the flexibility Winnow offered by working a reduced working week.

Value: Bound by Food - when not at work you can find me at the Farmer’s market

I love the responsibility and trust we have and enjoy bringing and implementing new ideas.

It’s not just in your daily role either.  I was once part of a team who suggested holding a monthly charity bake sale during a brainstorming session around the culture we wanted to create in our new work space.  The suggestion won, and we have been organising these ever since!

Value: People of Action - We’re a team of 2 supporting a global business.  We can’t procrastinate, we need to get stuff done.

Favourite food: Cake!!  I have 25 sweet teeth - it has to be cake!

I love coming to work each day and being surrounded by like minded people.  There is a positive and healthy atmosphere with a great team spirit and a real focus on People. 

I started with Winnow Singapore, but was thrilled to then transfer internally when I wanted to move closer to home and am now based in Europe selling to the French and Spanish markets.

Value: Hungry and humble - if you are hungry, motivated and passionate about what you do  there are fantastic opportunities for you at Winnow.

Food: Bread - I’m French so I grew up on bread!

I enjoy the diversity at Winnow - both of the tech stack and the people. 

Once a year the entire global tech team get together which is great fun. Last year we spent the week brainstorming a solution for a particular food waste problem.  It’s inspiring to know that this new product idea is now being progressed by the company.

Value: Equal Parts Head and Heart - This summarises my approach to development. Caring about delivering a great user experience whilst using my head to develop quality code. 

Food: Vegan pizza - my girlfriend makes the best, topped with all sorts of goodies!

Winnow is full of passionate people who are committed to the mission and proud of the product we are developing using some of the newest technologies.  I’ve never seen teamwork like this before in my career.  It’s very special. 

Value: People of action - I love a challenge, and nothing beats bringing a great team of people together to find innovative solutions to complex problems.  We get things done, and move on to the next.

Favorite food: Grilled Calamaris - I just love them and order them whenever I’m at the seaside.

Amina Ringim

I love the Winnow culture - there is little bureaucracy and no hierarchy.  Speaking to the CEO / MD / CTO etc is not a big deal here.  It also has a family feel where everyone genuinely cares about each other.  All that whilst being an ambitious and challenging place to work with a lot of opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive and fun environment.

Value : Equal Part Head and Heart - I love to do things logically, but I'm also quite emotional.  

Favourite food : Ramen -  I love the way Japanese Ramen looks so elegant, almost artistic, and then tastes so good!
