It’s official: chefs using Winnow are saving over $100 million in food waste every year.
It’s a milestone worth celebrating - and a moment to spotlight the creativity behind the numbers.
We’re launching #100Recipesfor100M - a global recipe competition for chefs to share their best zero-waste recipe.
Whether it’s reimagined vegetable trimmings or a bold twist on leftover bread, we want to showcase how chefs are turning food waste into dishes worth celebrating.
Judged by Chef Vojtech Vegh, the winner will receive a hamper of premium cookware and recipe books worth over $750.
100 recipes will be selected for inclusion in Winnow’s first ever digital cookbook, with all competition entrants receiving a free copy.
Did you know?
$100 million in food waste every year is 28,000 tonnes of food. Or 2 meals saved from the trash every second.
It means more than 122,000 tonnes of CO₂e emissions are avoided - the same as taking 28,000 cars off the road for a year.
What’s in the prize pot?
The winner, selected by Chef Vojtech Vegh, will receive a hamper of premium cookware and recipe books worth over $750.
The top 5 recipes will also receive:
- A guest feature on our Pass It On podcast
- A professional shoot of your dish being created
- A trophy to celebrate your kitchen’s creativity
100 recipes will be selected for inclusion in Winnow’s first ever digital cookbook, with all competition entrants receiving a free copy.
Recipes will be judged on creativity, innovation, zero-waste impact, and presentation.
Winners will be announced on Stop Food Waste Day - Wednesday 29 April 2026.

Who can enter?
The competition is open to all chefs in our global community - whether you work in a hotel, canteen or cruise ship.*
You don’t need to be a current user of Winnow, but we do ask that your recipe is inspired by insights from your kitchen’s food waste data.
*Entrants must be 18+ and work in a professional kitchen environment. Open globally, except where prohibited by local law.
How do I enter?
On LinkedIn or Instagram:
- Post a picture or video of your dish
- In the caption, share the name of your dish, a few sentences on the story behind it and why it deserves to win.
- Was there any food waste data that inspired you? How much waste has it helped you to avoid? What have your customers said? Share any colour that will help your recipe stand out from the crowd.
- Remember to tag @winnow @vojtechvegh and #100Recipesfor100M
- Share the full recipe with us in a DM.
