Winnow Supplier Sustainability Declaration

Introduction

Winnow is committed to conducting business in a socially and environmentally responsible manner. We believe that our suppliers play a crucial role in helping us achieve our sustainability goals. This Supplier Sustainability Declaration outlines the principles and expectations we have for all of our suppliers. By partnering with Winnow, you are agreeing to uphold these standards and contribute to a more sustainable future.

Scope

This Declaration applies to all suppliers of goods and services to Winnow. We expect our suppliers to extend these principles to their own supply chain.

Our Expectations

1. Labor Practices

We expect our suppliers to uphold the following labor standards:

  • Freely Chosen Employment: No forced, bonded (including debt bondage) or involuntary prison labor shall be used. Employees shall be free to leave their employment after reasonable notice.
  • Child Labor Avoidance: No child labor shall be used. The minimum age for employment shall be 15 years of age, the minimum age for employment in that country, or the age for completing compulsory education, whichever is higher.
  • Working Hours: Working hours shall comply with applicable national laws and industry standards. Employees shall not be required to work more than the legally mandated maximum working hours per week, including overtime.
  • Wages and Benefits: Wages and benefits shall meet or exceed legal minimum standards or prevailing industry wages, whichever is higher, and provide essential needs.
  • Humane Treatment: There shall be no harsh and inhumane treatment, including any sexual harassment, sexual abuse, corporal punishment, mental or physical coercion or verbal abuse; nor is there to be the threat of any such treatment.
  • Non-Discrimination: There shall be no discrimination based on race, color, age, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, disability, religion, political affiliation, union membership, national origin, or marital status in hiring and employment practices such as promotions, rewards, and access to training.
  • Freedom of Association: Workers shall have the right to associate freely, join or form trade unions, and bargain collectively, without fear of reprisal, intimidation or harassment.
     

    2. Health and Safety

    We expect our suppliers to provide a safe and healthy working environment:

  • Occupational Safety: Identify and assess potential safety hazards and implement appropriate control measures.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Establish and maintain emergency preparedness and response procedures.
  • Injury and Illness Management: Implement procedures for managing and reporting workplace injuries and illnesses.
  • Industrial Hygiene: Identify, evaluate, and control worker exposure to chemical, biological, and physical agents.
  • Machine Safeguarding: Properly safeguard machinery to protect workers from injury.
  • Sanitation, Food, and Housing: Provide workers with access to clean sanitation facilities, safe drinking water, and, if provided, sanitary food preparation and storage facilities and safe and healthy housing.
  • Health and Safety Communication: Provide workers with appropriate health and safety training and information in a language they understand.

     

    3. Environmental Responsibility

    We expect our suppliers to minimize their environmental impact:

  • Environmental Permits and Reporting: Obtain and maintain all required environmental permits and licenses and comply with all applicable environmental regulations.
  • Pollution Prevention: Implement measures to prevent or minimize the release of pollutants to air, water, and land.
  • Reduction of Hazardous Substances: Reduce or eliminate the use of hazardous substances in products and processes where feasible.
  • Solid Waste Management: Properly manage and dispose of solid waste in an environmentally responsible manner.
  • Air Emissions: Control and monitor air emissions to minimize their impact on air quality.
  • Materials Restrictions: Comply with all applicable regulations regarding the use of restricted materials, such as those listed in RoHS, REACH, and other relevant legislation.
  • Water Management: Conserve water resources and minimize water pollution.
  • Energy Consumption and Greenhouse Gas Emissions: Implement measures to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

     

    4. Business Ethics

    We expect our suppliers to conduct business ethically and with integrity:

  • Business Integrity: Uphold the highest standards of integrity in all business interactions.
  • No Improper Advantages: Do not offer or accept bribes, kickbacks, or other improper advantages.
  • Disclosure of Information: Accurately disclose information regarding labor, health and safety, and environmental practices.
  • Intellectual Property: Respect intellectual property rights and safeguard confidential information.
  • Fair Business Practices: Engage in fair business practices, including fair pricing and competition.

     

    5. Management System

    We encourage our suppliers to implement a management system to ensure ongoing compliance with this Declaration:

  • Policy and Commitment: Develop and communicate a sustainability policy that reflects the principles of this Declaration.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify and address potential sustainability risks.
  • Monitoring and Measurement: Establish metrics to monitor and measure progress towards sustainability goals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement a process for continuous improvement of sustainability performance.

     

    Compliance and Monitoring

    Winnow reserves the right to assess supplier compliance with this Declaration through audits, questionnaires, and other means. We expect suppliers to cooperate fully with these assessments and to provide accurate and timely information. Failure to comply with this Declaration may result in corrective action or termination of the supplier relationship.

    Supplier Acknowledgement

    By signing any agreement to supply goods or services to Winnow where these terms are included by reference, the supplier acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to comply with the requirements of this Supplier Sustainability Declaration.
